"PWM Equestrian Construction recommended that I consider using Turfloat as the surface for the manège they built for me. I didn't want a heavy surface that would rut, smell or stain the horses' feathers, and I wanted something that would be simple to maintain.

They sourced a local arena for me which had used Turfloat and, when I visited, the owner was enthusiastic about the quality of the ride on the fibrous surface and the low maintenance that the arena required.

Six months on and I am happy to confirm that the surface is ideal. We find that the silica sand and fibrous material does not ride deep, and is the perfect jumping medium, with a little give making it feel light and springy. The same soft ride gives a perfect dressage surface, the horses do not have any drag and it does not build a track like sand and rubber. Maintenance is minimal once laid, and the more it is ridden on the more the surface improves, as the sand and material combine.

You only use a flat roller to level the surface, so it couldn't be easier. We have been through a very wet winter, including hard frosts and snow, and have ridden throughout. It drains immediately. We are extremely happy that PWM made this recommendation."
